Trace the journey with this Artemis II Trajectory Poster: the figure-eight free-return path around the Moon, drawn as one clean line with real photos of Earth and the Moon.

Why You'll Love It

  • Accurate shape: Earth in one loop, the Moon in the other, the legs crossing once, just as NASA diagrams it (not to scale).
  • Real photos: Earth and the Moon as the Artemis II crew photographed them from Orion.
  • Classroom ready: A great teaching poster for physics, astronomy and STEM rooms.
  • Archival quality: Museum-grade paper and pigment inks for sharp detail and long-lasting color.

About This Print

Artemis II launched on April 1, 2026, spent its first day in a high Earth orbit, then fired its engine toward the Moon. A free-return trajectory carried the crew around the far side of the Moon on April 6 and home to a splashdown in the Pacific on April 10.

FAQ

Is the path accurate?
The shape is: Earth sits in one loop and the Moon in the other, the outbound and return legs cross once, and the high Earth orbit is drawn with Earth at its focus. Distances are not to scale, as in NASA’s own mission diagrams.

Are Earth and the Moon real photos?
Yes. Both were photographed from Orion by the Artemis II crew: Earth on April 2, 2026 (art002e000192) and the Moon on April 6, 2026 (art002e024311).

What sizes and frames are available?
Sizes from 5x7" to 24x36". Choose print only, a black, white or wood frame, or a floating frame canvas in black, white or walnut.
