About

At Swell Scenes, we’re passionate about turning our passions into stunning wall art that inspires and connects. Founded by two longtime friends, David and Travis, Swell Scenes grew from our shared love of art, design, and storytelling. Over 15 years ago, we met on the island of Oahu and began collaborating on creative projects, each one fueling our dream to bring art into more homes and spaces. Today, we take pride in crafting high-quality art prints that celebrate our favorite places, interests, and ideas. Whether you’re decorating your home, office, or rental, we’re here to help you create a space that feels uniquely yours. Thank you for supporting our small business and sharing in our vision!

Meet David

David has been an artist for as long as he can remember, attending a visual arts high school and earning a degree in traditional and computer animation. His career began as a lead animator, storyboard artist, and designer before becoming a self-taught developer and founding multiple software businesses.

Originally from the swamps of Central Florida, David left his home state after college to chase adventure—and the perfect wave—living in Hawaii, California, and Colorado. After a decade on Maui, he returned to Florida to start a family. Today, David continues to find joy in surfing and creating art, and spending time outdoors with his family. Also, he loves listening to the bands Tool and The Hip Abduction.

Meet Travis

Similarly, Travis has been immersed in art and design for as long as he can remember. He spent years as a graphic designer before founding a design company and later becoming the Creative Director of a tech company.

Originally from Minnesota, Travis’ adventurous spirit took him to the island of Oahu and across the country in his Airstream. He’s lived in Hawaii and Virginia Beach, eventually returning to Minnesota to start a family. When he’s not creating art for Swell Scenes, Travis enjoys shredding ski runs and spending quality time with his family. He also loves a good IPA, Liquid Death, and listening to Coheed and Cambria
