About Enger Tower And Enger Park
Enger Tower is a five-story stone observation tower in Enger Park, built in 1939 in honor of Norwegian immigrant and Duluth philanthropist Bert Enger. Rising about 80 feet on Enger Hill above the city, the tower provides 360-degree views of Duluth, the harbor, and Lake Superior from its upper levels.
The surrounding Enger Park features gardens, walking paths, a Japanese-style garden, and the American-Japanese Peace Bell gifted from Duluth’s sister city in Japan. It is a popular spot for picnics, weddings, fall color viewing, and catching sunsets over the hillside city and ships passing through the canal.
